The Hare with the Pearl Earring edition by Julia Dweck Patricia Saco Children eBooks Reviews
Hare with the Pearl Earring is wonderfully written. My kids and I have enjoyed reading all the books written by children's author, Julia Dweck, who wrote Furmaid and Zombie-Kids. Each of Dweck's books offers a unique experience and a delightful surprise. Hare with the Pearl Earring is a beautiful and lyrical story. The writing is fun and inventive and the artwork is phenomenal. The story weaves in great bits of information about famous artists. It's rare to find a book that introduces kids to cultural subject matter in such a fun way. The story characters are creative and inventive. I loved the Andy Warthog character the best. My daughter loved the tiny bird named Wren-War. Hare with the Pearl Earring is a treasure.
The pictures are great! They link back to the original piece.
I didn't find the story had a story line to it.
If it were for the pictures, I would give this 5 stars.
But, for the story I would give it a 1 star.
So I compromised and gave it 3 stars.
A lovely book that spins a story to introduce some famous artists and their works. My two sweethearts love this beautiful book.
I stumbled upon Hare with the Pearl Earring while looking for a fun summer read for my little one. What a find!!
The rhyming text is lots of fun to share with a young child. My son loved learning about all of the different artists in this fast paced fantasy adventure set inside an enchanted village. The interactivity was really well done. My son and I enjoyed clicking on all the facts and learning things even I never knew about the artists and their art. Kudos to Dweck and Saco.
The Hare With the Pearl Earring opens with the character, Henny Hare who is a model and patron of the arts. Blending fantasy with art history, the story goes on to introduce young readers to an array of animal artists whose names not only sound like, but also hint at their real-world counterparts. In addition to full-color illustrations and rhyming text, the interactive icons add to the reading experience by revealing information about each artist and their work. I would highly recommend this lively tale for the budding art enthusiasts and their parents as well.
Impressive. This book, of course, contained the wonderful rhyming of Julia Dweck but in addition to that there was so much more. The illustrations are really a work of art that adults and children alike can appreciate. There is an interactive touch to the pages that teach all of us just a bit more about some of the most famous paintings and artists. It's really quite amazing how much they were able to fit into this tiny book.

Julia Dweck and Patricia Saco have created a masterpiece! Pun intended. The Hare with the Pearl Earring is a child's introduction to a few of the world's greatest masters. Join little Henny the hare as she models for the likes of Van Gogh, Picasso, Da Vinci, and others.
Here's the thing, children will be learning about some of the great masters, but they won't even realize it. They'll be having fun listening to their mom or dad reading the wonderful prose. That is until they tap on the icons on the pages and view a picture of the artist's paintings, along with a bit of information about the artist themselves. What a great time you will have making memories as you read this e-book to your children. You will also love the clever illustrations created by Patricia Saco.
It's truly a treasure, and a bit of genius. Do not miss this lovely e-book. I highly recommend it!
