I greatly enjoyed this book. And even though it is not filled with scriptures, the one that is brought up here & there - is forgiveness which is largely what the theme of this book is all about. A romance does occur but there is so much more going on that it keeps you reading.-- ----as to some comments about erotic scenes, I can only think of one that they may be talking about - the morning after their wedding night - but I did not read anything erotic about it (& in my past life, I read far too many and why I prefer Christian books instead now). --------
I do not tell everything that goes on in a book & why I am not saying who, what, or why -- I feel that a reader should find out for him/her self instead of reading all about a book Before reading it - --- I have read reviews before that told so much, I did not buy because I had just read all about the book.

I am not very good at writing reviews, but it was just a very good book. Ruth Axtell is an amazing writer. The knowledge that comes through in her book is amazing.
Once I'd started I found it difficult to put down. My only complaint was that Dirk didn't wait for Francesca outside Pieter's flat. It would have been far smarter. I won't tell you when or why because I hate spoilers. )

Really enjoyed story based on Holland. Ruth does a good job with history, plot characters and faith based.
I really enjoyed this book! It was fresh, unique, and the characters felt like real people with real struggles. I also loved the setting and time period, very original!
Generally I love anything written by this author. But not this one. While the book was fairly well written with a strong plot , the message, compared to her other books, was weak and shallow. She emphasised the physical nature of the characters so much that it seemed as if that was the only thing that they had in common, the only thing that re-united them and the only thing that will keep them together. Disappointing. The Christian core found in this author's books was missing here.
Ruth Axtell writes passionately romantic and exciting stories. In Your Eyes is one of her great ones. The characters are well-drawn and realistic. Even the secondary characters are very memorable. The hero in the beginning is bent on revenge, but you cannot help but love him. The heroine is quietly strong and loyal. If you enjoy passionately romantic stories, you will enjoy this one. There is a lot of heart and emotion and truth in this plot and characters. I highly recommend it to mature readers.
